Thank you for your interest in the Hispanic National Bar Foundation’s 2025 Future Latino Leaders Summer Law Camp. Please carefully read the information on this page before completing your application.
The Future Latino Leaders Summer Law Camp purpose is to provide high school students with the opportunity to gain experience regarding the legal profession. Throughout the week, students will engage in workshops on leadership and receive legal instruction in preparation for a practice Mock Trial. Students will have the opportunity to meet with lawyers, judges, and officials of the United States government and learn about a path to a legal career.
In order to apply and participate, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be a high school student in good standing currently enrolled as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior.
- You should have an interest in learning about law school and entering the legal profession (the student will provide details on this in their essay responses).
- You should have a demonstrated interest in helping your community and building your leadership skills.
- You must provide proof of citizenship, permanent residency, U.S. Visa, or other immigration authorization in order to obtain access to certain government buildings.
THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS NEED TO BE SUBMITTED BEFORE YOU FILL OUT THE LAW CAMP APPLICATION FORM:
- You must sign acceptance of the requirements on the Rules and Regulations Form
- You must fill out all forms in English
- One personal non-AI assisted essay
- Two (2) letters of recommendation (from teachers, counselors, or employers)
- A resumé that includes your accomplishments, community service, leadership, and/or civic activities
- A certified copy of your academic record from your high school with your current G.P.A.
- Digital headshot picture
- A scan of a valid form of ID
Students are responsible for arranging transportation to and from Washington, D.C., unless a financial need-based transportation scholarship is requested and granted. The HNBF covers all other costs associated with Law Camp.

Applications missing any of the requirements will be considered incomplete and not reviewed. We will contact the selected students by the end of May with a congratulatory email that will also include parent/guardian consent forms and instructions on how to prepare to attend law camp in July.

Application period for the 2025 program: Jan. 1 – March 30, 2025
In order to apply and participate, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a high school student in good standing currently enrolled as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior;
- Have an interest in learning about law school and entering the legal profession (the student will provide details on this in their essay responses);
- Be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or have other valid immigration authorization, and MUST have government-issued identification; and
- Have a demonstrated interest in helping your community and building your leadership skills.
Although there is no cost to participate, applicants must pay a non-refundable $50 application fee (see payment options below), unless a waiver of this fee is requested and granted. Students are responsible for arranging transportation to and from Washington, D.C. unless a need-based transportation scholarship is granted. The HNBF covers all other costs associated with Law Institute.
